Western Horsemanship, by Richard Shrake. 143pp. From training and showing to teaching and judging, Richard Shrake is one of the outstanding professionals in the horse show world. His lifelong career with horses began with riding colts for his dad on the family ranch in Oregon. He soon began showing horses, and continued breaking, training and showing during his college years. Following graduation, he began giving clinics on the West Coast, became a full-time trainer, and built his own training stable, Horsemanship West, in Oregon City. During the following years, both Richard and his students competed with phenomenal success at all the major shows on the West Coast. Today, Richard is concentrating primarily on judging and giving clinics all over the nation.
